About
Munsell Color Tree
A 3D map of perceptual color space. Hue sets the angle (20 pages), Value sets lightness on the vertical axis (0 black → 10 white), Chroma sets saturation as the radius from center.
The shape is deliberately irregular — branches extend only as far as real pigments allow. Colors come from the official OSA renotation data (Munsell → CIE XYZ → sRGB).
Gold outline marks each hue's peak chroma — the pigment at full concentration. White outline means the color exceeds the Display P3 gamut. Click any chip to see its Munsell notation, hex, Lab LCH, and OKLCh values.
